Scott H. Gelbs PT, DPT, OCS, PCC
Greenwich Physical Therapy Center was founded in 1987 by Dr. Scott H. Gelbs, a nationally known physical therapist, educator and consultant.
Dr. Gelbs received his BS in Physical Therapy from the University at Buffalo in 1981. He received a Master’s degree in Pathokinesiology from New York University in 1985 and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2004.
He is board certified as an orthopedic specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and is Primary Care certified.
Dr. Gelbs has held faculty positions at major universities and regularly lectures on topics related to orthopedic and sports injury management. He has also served as physical therapy consultant for the New York Rangers hockey team and regularly consults with athletes, regardless of their level of competition, as to orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Dr. Gelbs has been featured in The New York Times, The Greenwich Time, The Stamford Advocate, The Journal News and numerous other publications.
Eve J. daRosa PT, MS, OCS
Ms. daRosa has been a member of the Greenwich Physical Therapy Center staff since 2003. She received a BS in Allied Health from Quinnipiac University in 2001. She earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University in January 2003. She is board certified as an orthopedic specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Lucas M. Mogensen PT, DPT
Dr. Mogensen has been a member of the Greenwich Physical Therapy Center staff since 2017. He received a BS from the University of Connecticut in 2014, with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Sports Nutrition. He earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from New York Medical College in 2017.
Victoria A. Ard PT, DPT, ATC
Dr. Ard has been a member of the Greenwich Physical Therapy Center staff since 2018. She received a BS from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2014, with a major in Athletic Training. She earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from New York Medical College in 2017.
Thomas J. Bentley MS, ATC
Mr. Bentley has been a member of the Greenwich Physical Therapy Center / Optimal Fitness staff since 1998. He received a BA in Biology from Hartwick College in 1989. He earned an MS in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy in 1991. He is a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association.
Michael J. Brown BS, CSCS
Mr. Brown received a BS in Applied Exercise Science and Physical Education from Springfield College in 1980. He is certified as a personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (NSCA).
Jeff Alexis BA, NASM-CPT
Mr. Alexis received a BA in Psychology/Sociology from SUNY Stony Brook in 2005. He is certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Andrew Wintergerst BS, CSCS
Mr. Wintergerst received a BS in Exercise Science from the University of Scranton in 2007. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Ginger Smillie
Ms. Smillie is an Administrative Assistant. She has been part of the Greenwich Physical Therapy Center team since 1998.
Mary F. Balog
Ms. Balog is an Administrative Assistant. She has been part of Greenwich Physical Therapy Center team since 2002.
Desha Spencer
Ms. Spencer is an Administrative Assistant. She has been part of the Greenwich Physical Therapy Center team since 2016.
